Getting support to those who need it most

In the Broward County community, Humana’s strategic partnerships have proven integral to the ongoing success of addressing food insecurity, social isolation, loneliness and other key social needs. Broward’s aging senior population was already facing a growing rise in depression and suicide when the COVID-19 crisis began. Connecting with our seniors through outbound calls and virtual visits became paramount when social distancing measures were put in place. Getting food to our homebound seniors and children out of school was equally crucial. Humana aligned with partners to provide over 10 million meals.
