Improving health services, removing barriers

In New York City, our community efforts are focused on helping residents cope with food insecurity and addressing barriers to healthcare. Humana has partnered with GrowNYC as a sustainability resource, and AIRnyc, an organization providing community health worker services, to help members navigate a complex health system and address their health-related social needs, including food and transportation. Humana associates volunteer their time to pack medically tailored meals with God’s Love We Deliver, an organization which cooks, packs and delivers over 10,300 meals everyday for individuals living with serious illnesses in the New York City metro area. Additionally, Humana is working with Uptown Grand Central and Caribbeing to improve access to physical activity and active living resources in the Harlem and Flatbush communities through events such as the Harlem Wellness Fest and Humana on Hillel, a summer fitness series.
