A strategic partnership committed to addressing Louisiana’s maternal and infant health crisis

The Humana Foundation has teamed up with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and March of Dimes to address the ongoing maternal and infant health crisis in Louisiana.

With New Orleans being among the top 10 U.S. cities with the highest rates of preterm birth, and the state’s preterm birth rate earning an “F” grade in the 2020 March of Dimes Report Card, these organizations have made it a top priority to find solutions for underlying the challenges. Patients of color have been disproportionality affected, therefore, addressing social determinants of health has remained central to the philanthropic efforts.
